2026-10-09Median rent: earlier pages showed the state's HUD two-bedroom Fair Market Rent as each city's "median rent". Every rent figure is now the city's own ACS median gross rent (DP04), and rent rankings were recomputed.
2026-10-09State figures: earlier state pages showed the sum of a state's places and the average of their medians as the state's figures. State pages now show each state's own ACS figures.
2026-10-09Vintage: figures moved from the 2019-2023 to the 2020-2024 ACS release, and building permits to 2025.
2026-10-09Removed: crime, climate, school, hazard, air-quality and cost-of-living figures that were copied from other databases rather than loaded from their official sources.
